Zwelihle’s Ray of light steps up

Up‑and‑coming Zwelihle designer Retshepile (Ray) Nketu is turning passion into progress. Self‑taught after leaving school, he built Khwela Sambe Authentic Designs with help from community mentors and Grootbos, progressing from a manual machine to an industrial one. Ray’s bespoke work — showcased at FynArts and commissioned by international clients — now needs a proper workspace and an assistant so he can scale up and teach others. He remains determined: “I work for what I need and I don’t give up.”
