Last week I did a talk on Gut health. I thought I would share a few of the tips from the talk.

1. Eat plenty of fibre. Fibre is an indigestible form of carbohydrate that aids in f***l bulk and regularity.

2. Including more probiotic foods such as yoghurt, keffir and kombucha. They aid our existing gut microbiome. They line the digestive tract and act as a defence against pathogens.

3. Drink plenty of water. It helps pass bowel movements with ease, improve absorption of nutrients and improve digestion in general.

4. Keep active. Exercise is linked to increases in the number of beneficial microbial species and keeps you regular.

5. Reduce Stress. Stress can both delay emptying stomach contents and speed up the movement of contents through the intestines. Either causing constipation or diarrhoea.

Don’t over complicate things when it comes to gut health, its not always necessary for fancy supplements.
Small changes make a big difference.
