Daveyton Intermediate School was established on 23rd April 1979. Schools in Daveyton at that time, were classified into various ethnic groups. There were Zulu school, South Sotho schools, North Sotho schools, Tsonga schools and Xhosa schools. The Zulu schools did not have enough classrooms to accommodate all the Zulu children.
