CERT CENTURION | RASLOUW

In the early hours of Monday morning, our Centurion crew responded to a single motor vehicle collision on the M10 (Wierda Road) near Raslouw, Centurion.

A single sports utility vehicle (SUV) had veered off the roadway and rolled several times, ejecting all of the occupants.

Upon arrival, it was found that three patients had been ejected from the vehicle and had sustained serious injuries.

One patient, a teenager, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two patients were transported to a nearby hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, one of the critically injured patients later succumbed to their injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this stage, and police have opened an investigation into the collision.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the families, friends, and loved ones of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time.

Road Safety Tip:
Always wear your seat belt, no matter how short the journey. Modern vehicles are equipped with advanced safety features such as airbags, but airbags are designed to work together with seat belts—not as a replacement for them. Without a seat belt, occupants can be thrown around inside the vehicle or even ejected during a collision or rollover, dramatically increasing the risk of serious injury or death. Buckling up takes only a few seconds but could save your life. Every trip, every seat, every time.

Before starting your shift, ensure your mobile device is fully charged, location services are enabled, and you know how to activate the emergency features within your delivery app.
