🌿 Emotions That Affect Your Organs 🌿
• Fear weakens the kidneys and drains vital energy.
• Worry harms the stomach and disrupts digestion.
• Stress weakens the heart and affects blood circulation.
• Anger weakens the liver and blocks the flow of energy.

😭 “Emotions & Detox: Why Lymphatic Drainage Can Make You Cry (And That’s Okay!)”
Ever found yourself wiping away unexpected tears during or after a lymphatic drainage session?
Don’t panic — it’s not just the massage oil making your eyes water 😉. You might be experiencing something powerful and deeply healing: an emotional detox.
Yes, your lymphatic system is not only your body’s drainage system for toxins...
It’s also a silent storage unit for unprocessed emotions. 🧠💧
🌿 Wait, Emotions and the Lymphatic System? Really?
Yep. Let’s break it down.
Your fascia (the connective tissue wrapped around your muscles, organs, and lymph vessels) stores more than just physical tension — it can hold emotional stress too.
Think of it like your body’s filing cabinet for all the things your mind hasn’t had time to sort through. 😓📦
Now combine that with the lymphatic system, which is responsible for removing:
Toxins 🦠
Cellular waste 🧬
Inflammatory proteins 🔥
And yes… even energetic baggage 🧳
When both fascia and lymph are stimulated through manual lymphatic drainage, it’s like pressing the release button on your body’s emotional inbox 💌.
💧Why You Might Cry (And That’s Actually Amazing)
Crying during or after a session isn't weakness — it’s wisdom. Your body is literally saying:
“Thank you. I’ve been holding onto this for too long.”
Here’s what might trigger those tears:
🔹 1. Stored Grief in the Fascia
That heartbreak from three years ago?
The stress of pretending you're fine when you're not?
Sometimes, your body keeps the score.
🔹 2. Nervous System Reset
Lymphatic drainage activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest-and-digest mode). That’s when your walls come down. 🧘♀️
Emotions surface — not to harm you, but to free you.
🔹 3. Safety & Release
When your body feels safe, it allows what’s been trapped (emotionally & physically) to come up and out. That’s healing, not regression. 🙏
❤️ Real Talk: What Emotions Might Surface?
Sadness 😢
Old grief or heartbreak 💔
Anger that’s been bubbling under 🔥
Overwhelm 😵💫
Even laughter (yup, that’s a release too!) 😂
✨ The Science & Soul Connection
Science shows that your gut, immune system, and brain are all connected through the vagus nerve and lymphatic pathways.
So when your gut is inflamed and your lymph is sluggish, you may also feel:
Anxious
Depressed
Stuck emotionally
By clearing physical congestion, your emotional energy often shifts too.
Healing is holistic, after all 🌎💚
🌈 What To Do If You Cry (or Want To)
💧 Drink more water — flushing is both physical and emotional
📝 Journal your feelings afterward
🛁 Take a warm bath with Epsom salts
🎶 Listen to calming music
💬 Talk to a trusted friend or therapist if needed
And most importantly — don’t judge it.
Your tears are a sign that your body and mind are working together to lighten the load.
💬 Final Word
Lymphatic therapy isn’t just about puffiness, detox, or reducing inflammation.
It’s about reconnection — to your body, to your emotions, and to your deeper healing.
So if the tears come, let them flow.
Because sometimes, the best cleanse isn’t just of toxins — but of truths that needed to be released. 🌧💖

5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is a cancer treatment that often causes inflammation and serious mouth, throat, and GI tract sores, a condition known as mucositis. This happens because the drug can damage the cells lining the mouth and digestive tract, leading to painful inflammation and difficulty eating or swallowing.
A preclinical model of 5-FU-induced mucositis investigated whether ingestion of dried ginger essential oil (23.5% alpha-zingiberene, 13.5% beta-phellandrene, 9.0% beta-sesquiphellandrene, 6.9% alpha-curcumene) could diminish mucositis. The results showed that ginger essential oil effectively alleviates mucositis. As a side benefit, the oil improved the gut microbiome, reduced leaky gut, reduced inflammation, increased IL-22 (a molecule important for gut healing), modulated a key biological signaling pathway (tryptophan metabolite IAA-AHR/IL-22/STAT3 signaling axis), and improved the production of proteins involved in immune responses. Overall, the research suggests that ginger EO is a promising candidate to manage 5-FU-induced mucositis.
