π International Assistive Technology Day β 4 June 2026 π
Today, we join the global campaign in celebrating the power of assistive technology to transform lives.
Assistive products such as prosthetic limbs, orthotic devices, wheelchairs, hearing aids, communication devices, and screen readers help millions of people participate more fully in education, employment, family life, sport, and their communities. They unlock opportunities that many of us experience every day.
Yet globally, billions of people require assistive technology, while access remains limited for many, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Improving access to appropriate, affordable, and quality assistive products is essential to achieving greater inclusion, independence, dignity, and quality of life for all.
As the South African Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (SAOPA), we are proud to represent the Orthotic and Prosthetic professionals who work every day to help unlock mobility, function, participation, and independence for the people they serve.

Quick question for healthcare professionals in private practice:
Have you noticed that even when you restβ¦
you still feel behind? Most healthcare professionals are not exhausted because they lack discipline.
Theyβre exhausted because their capacity has never been trained to carry the level of responsibility their work demands. When capacity shrinks, clinical performance and practice sustainability shrink with it: clarity, resilience, decision-making & long-term sustainability.
Sustainable care requires sustainable clinicians. And the most ethical thing a healthcare professional can do is build the capacity required to care well for the long term.
If exhaustion has quietly become your baseline, it may be time to rebuild the internal capacity your work actually requires.
Thatβs exactly what weβll explore in the STOP Feeling Exhausted β 3-Day Capacity Training for Healthcare Professionals.
Designed for private practice clinicians who care deeply about their clients but refuse to sacrifice their health, family, or financial well-being in the process.
Three evenings that will give you back more capacity than they require from you.
