Where movement meets recovery, and recovery meets resilience.
📍 Highveld & Irene Biokineticists are concerned with health promotion, the maintenance of physical abilities and final phase rehabilitation. I enjoy working with all conditions and have a keen interest in orthopaedics, metabolic disease and neurological conditions.

Pelvic floor dysfunction is more common than we think, and yet, it is rarely spoken about due to embarrassment or "oh, it's just aging."

Do you need to cross your legs when you sneeze?
Do you plan your day around the nearest bathroom?
Do you avoid jumping, running, or certain exercises?

These aren't just things you need to live with.

Your pelvic floor is part of your core. When it's not functioning well, other areas compensate, often leading to discomfort, instability, or decreased performance.

It's not just exclusive to women either. Men experience pelvic floor dysfunction, too. Most commonly during heavy lifting, after prostate surgery, chronic straining, and chronic back pain.

Left too long, pelvic floor dysfunction can result in chronic incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and serial dysfunction. Having a serious negative effect on quality of life.

The good news? These muscles can be retrained. Early reassessment and targeted rehabilitation can prevent worsening symptoms and restore function.

If any of these signs sound familiar, reach out. Support is available 🤍

Sustainable strength progress comes from regular exposure to appropriate load. Research shows that motor learning and strength improve far more through repetition and frequency than occasional complexity.

Keep it simple. Keep it consistent. And keep showing up ✨️💪🏼

Movement is better when it’s shared.

Our group classes are built around connection, consistency and considered movement. We aim to create a space where we celebrate the good days and make room for the harder ones too.

Each class is guided with intention, drawing on evidence-based principles of strength, control and movement quality, while still leaving space for individuality and how your body feels on the day.

No pressure. No comparison. Just well-guided movement in a supportive, like-minded community.

Movember is here — and we’re diving deep into how exercise transforms men’s physical and mental health.

From boosting mood and confidence to reducing stress, improving sleep, and lowering disease risk — movement is medicine. This month, we honour the battles men fight silently and highlight the power of staying active, staying connected, and taking care of your body and mind. 🏋️‍♂️

Men’s Mental Health Stats:
• Around 75% of global su***de victims are men.
• Men are far less likely to seek help — they make up only about 30–40% of psychological therapy users.
• 1 in 8 men will experience depression, yet most won’t report it.
• Men die, on average, 4–5 years earlier than women, with preventable lifestyle diseases and untreated mental health issues playing a major role.

Let’s move for better health, talk openly, and support our men. 💙

MEET THE TEAM 〰️

Cherise is an East Rand girl at heart, with a big dream: to make rehab & exercise more accessible, fun, and lasting. She’s a registered biokineticist with multiple additional certifications (because let’s be honest - CPD points won’t earn themselves, and curiosity fuels action), allowing her to look at a concern from different angles.

“Identifying gaps and obstacles in the rehabilitation space has been one of the biggest challenges in a fast-paced medical world - but also the foundation of how MyoMerge was built. We understand the hurdles our patients face and aim to meet anyone with empathy, working closely with patient-centered practitioners to achieve the best conservative outcomes.”

Cherise has a special interest in orthopaedic rehabilitation, women’s health, and neurological conditions. Every session draws from the science of movement - combining evidence-based strategies to improve mobility, strength, and function.

She hyper-fixates on good tunes, loves spending her downtime with people who inspire her, sneaks in a Pilates flow, and enjoys the occasional jumpscare movie.

Her daily dopamine fix? Likely found at a local coffee shop near one of our practices (shoutout to & .coffee) ☕️
