After doing some repairs to the Spreaders on this 37 foot cruisers mast, and making a complete new set of standing rigging, the team had to transport the mast 150km to go and step the mast, and did we not have beautiful conditions to step!

The team has been busy at Cape Performance Sailing over the weekend with systems design for halyards and controls for the new Cape 26 launching soon. And as the cold weather roll in..we roll straight onto the next project. We had to replace the standing rigging as well as running rigging on this mast, but all the pins we seized and corroded on the spreader ends,as well as on the spreader pins. We had the lovely guys at Jacobs Bros Boat Builders cut and repair the Spreaders and make all new pins. Big thanks to Taariq Jacobs and Sieraj Jacobs always making time to assist. Check in to follow on the progress of this project

Today we are making some new rigging for a St Francis 44. We will be replacing the rigging with the mast up and wind blowing 25knots,so it will be lots of fun. All the stays are made in house and we are using the new Apex rigging screws from Bluewave.

Standby for updates as we complete the replacement during today and tomorrow, followed by a sea trial by the weekend.

Mast service and complete standing rigging replacement of this 2012 Leopard 46 Owners Version. The mast built by Sparcraft Masts is still in very good condition structurally as well as cosmetically. All the rigging was manufactured in house, and shipped to the boat in France.

It was a pleasure to have been able to assist the new owner of Olleanna who will be competing in the 2026 Golden Globe Race in a few months time . We did some checks and tuned the mast for performance, but also for durability for the upcoming challenge. This boat will be competing for the 3rd time, having completed the previous edition with Jeremy Bagshaw. This was the replacement mast we beefed up with Sparcraft Masts, who built the mast for the previous competitor after being dismasted.
