💡◼️What happens during load shedding when performance in terms of the employment contract between employer and employees become impossible? Does the employer have to keep on paying the employees?
🚫NO! This is simple contract law: When ex*****on of the contract becomes objectively impossible, the parties are relieved from their duties and obligations in terms of the contract. In practice that means the employees need to be clocked out of the system and do not accrue any remuneration. Hope this is useful.
