‘I love it with pinks – something I've seen a lot of in the shops – plus pink was the colour I featured on the blog, YouTube and socials.

It was the AW23 season when I bought my burgundy satin bias cut burgundy skirt – something that I'm still wearing today!

Some colours do come and go, but choose wisely and they’ll earn a forever spot in your wardrobe. Knowing your colours will help you choose well so you really will get more wear out of your clothes.

A reminder that a traditional burgundy shade sits in the medium to deep range of colours. Anyone with a much lighter look to their features will find it can be too strong for them – especially when worn close to their face.

However, there's also more than one shade of burgundy! Instead – think winter berries and wines and you'll have an idea of the different shades and tones of the colour as shown from the images.

Burgundy, maroon, mahogany, aubergine, damson, plum… Whatever the name, opt for YOUR best shade!
