Can you surf in winter?
This is a question we often get asked and is a legit question for beginner surfers.
Other common thoughts around the winter season:
🌊 Are the waves too messy or big in winter?
🌊 Are the waves good for beginners?
🌊 Can I learn to surf in winter or must I wait for summer?
🌊 It’s too cold to surf in winter.
🌊 Is the rips not dangerous in winter?
The answer to all of the thoughts are yes, but when you are coached by experienced instructors they know which days are good for beginners surf ability and which days to stay out of the ocean.
The winter season demands a higher respect for the ocean and to surf within your surf ability, but this should not hold you back from learning to surf.
