Why your business isn’t getting engagement on Social Media!!
_____________________
Social media marketing might seem tricky; but it does not have to be.
You might wonder why your business has thousands of followers but very few likes, comments, shares, or saves.
This can feel frustrating, especially when you are posting often and trying to stay visible.
_________
The truth is that social media has changed.
People are no longer impressed by content that only looks nice. They want content that feels useful, real and worth their time.
With the rise of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and short video content, people now expect posts to grab their attention quickly.
_________
In this article, we will look at the main reasons your business may not be getting engagement on social media and what you can do to improve it:-
1. You Are Posting Without a Clear Strategy
A strong social media strategy should answer a few simple questions:
Who are you speaking to? What problem are you helping them solve? What do you want them to feel, learn, or do after seeing your post?

2. Your Content Is Too Salesy
Many businesses treat social media like a digital catalogue. Every post says “buy now”, “shop today”, or “limited offer”.
While there is nothing wrong with promoting your products, people do not open social media apps just to be sold to.

3. You Do Not Understand Your Audience
To create better content, you need to understand your customers’ daily lives:
What are they struggling with? What questions do they ask before buying? What stops them from trusting a brand? What do they care about?

4. Your Content Does Not Grab Attention Fast Enough
People scroll quickly. If your first line, image, or video opening does not catch attention, your post may be ignored.
This does not mean every post must be loud or dramatic. It means your content must be scroll-stopping by giving people a reason to pause.

5. You Are Not Creating Content People Want to Save or Share
If your content does not teach, guide, remind, or inspire people, they may not feel the need to save or share it.
You need to ask yourself whether someone would send this post to a friend. Would they save it for later? Or, would it help them make a better choice?

6. You Are Not Asking for Engagement in the Right Way
Sometimes people do not engage because they have not been invited.
A good call to action can help guide your audience. However, it must feel natural.
Ask questions that are easy to answer. The simpler the question, the better. People are more likely to comment when they do not have to think too hard.

7. You Are Not Being Consistent Enough
This does not mean you must post every day.
It is better to post three strong pieces of content each week than to post daily content that has no value.

8. You Are Not Checking Your Analytics
Do not only focus on follower count.
A smaller audience that engages is more valuable than a large audience that never responds. Your goal should be to understand what works and improve from there.

Aesop’s Fables: The Goose and The Golden Egg
________________
The Fable:-
There was once a Countryman who possessed the most wonderful Goose you can imagine; for every day when he visited the nest, the Goose had laid a beautiful, glittering, golden egg.
The Countryman took the eggs to market and soon began to get rich.
But it was not long before he grew impatient with the Goose because she gave him only a single golden egg a day. He was not getting rich fast enough.
Then one day, after he had finished counting his money, the idea came to him that he could get all the golden eggs at once by killing the Goose and cutting it open.
But when the deed was done, not a single golden egg did he find and his precious Goose was dead.
_______
The Moral:-
Those who have plenty want more and so lose all they have.
_______
The Application:-
They who are of such craving impatient tempers, that they cannot live contented when fortune has blessed them with a constant and continued sufficiency, deserve even to be deprived of what they have.
And this has been the case of many ambitious and covetous men who, by making an essay to grow rich at once, have missed what they aimed at and lost what they had before.
