Kulani Library

Biodiversity Management visited us today! They gave a presentation about the work they do in their department and finished off with a fun game. Children learned all about animals and nature.

Our holiday programme is still underway! Today’s session was storytelling and arts and crafts. The children drew their favorite parts of the story and proudly presented them to the group.

We held an Environmental Awareness Day for Grade 8 learners from Injongo Primary School, in collaboration with Environmental Health and the South African Environmental Observation Network (SAEON).

They delivered presentations and demonstrations on ecosystems, climate change, and pollution. As the library, we set up a table to share our services and handed out membership forms to participants.

The learners were split into groups for a quiz competition based on the presentations. It was clear they were familiar with the theme and answered with enthusiasm.

Learners received promotional materials from the library, and teachers received environmental teaching tools from SAEON.

We hosted a sandwich drive in collaboration with Blue Ribbon and the Khayelitsha police stations. The sandwiches were delivered to local orphanages and community clubs. We also showcased our books and ran a library membership drive at the venue.
