On an eight acre piece of land situated in Esplugues a municipality in the suburbs of Barcelona is the home of Spanish sculptor Xavier Corberó.

the elaborate & playful forms which characterize the nine structures & courtyards which have been under construction since he acquired the land in 1968. These house work studios, living quarters as well as ten bedrooms & bathrooms which all adorn Corberó’s own work & acquired objects.

The New York Times described Cinga Samson as, "An artist who doesn’t want to feed Western fantasies about Africa". This is partly why this contemporary, South African artist.

His body of work resonates with us because of the deep moody colour palette portraying haunting portraits which challenge our stereotypes of Africa. We are inspired to create spaces that work in synergy with his paintings.
