Today, Middestad Mall is visited by about 650 000 shoppers every month, many of whom make use of the free parking available just across the road. Middestad Mall cares about the community and is an active participant in Growthpoint Properties’Corporate Social Investment project called Growsmart, which – with the support of the Western Cape Education Department – is aimed at improving the unacceptably low literacy levels in primary schools in the Western Cape. Growsmart is an annual literacy competition which was launched in 2010, and which has since won three international awards for community support.
