Redruth Thatching

We design outdoor entertainment areas, we don’t sell thatch roofs. We will advise you about possible positions, positions related to the sun, the shape, fire risks and whether a plan is needed. We guarantee that all roofs we construct will adhere to specifications required by structural engineers. All Redruth roofs will adhere to SANS 10407:2006 specifications and to “A Guide To Good Thatching Practice” by the CSIR. Our Structural Designers will present you with a detailed works drawing.

We have been designing and building rustic machined as well as well as natural pole structures as entertainment areas formore than 40 years.
The recent solar rush has steered us to adapting these beautiful structures to double as a solar panel carrier.
We design each installation custom (with your preferred solar installer) with the utmost care:
We take in concideration the finishing the client wants, the space and structural elements the panel install requires, accessability for future panel cleaning etc
All resulting in a beautiful structure with long term structural integrity, minimum to zero maintenance and and panels on top either visible or hidden*
*yes we are in South Africa and panels unfortunately get stolen daily
