These are Ndebele dolls, handcrafted in South Africa. Each one is different — cowrie shells, beads, rope, metal rings. Each one tells a story.

Molo Lolo Restaurant has just reopened.

On the terrace, under the vines and string lights, tables fill up every evening. Inside, African masks, raffia pendants and wax wallpaper line the brick walls.

In the kitchen, French chefs come in residence to teach students from the NukaKamma programme. On the plate: African ingredients, French technique.

The Sisonke Bar is the heart of the lodge.

Thando will pour your welcome drink on arrival. A draught beer or a South African wine after the safari. A digestif once dinner is done.
