What do you think was the most felt feeling in our Western society last year? It’s actually so wide-spread that there’s a name for it: Languishing.

One year after Covid hit, an article by Adam Grant went viral pinpointing what many people felt like back then: A constant feeling of “blah”, stuck in a void of meaninglessness and stagnation - an experience called “languishing”.

Languishing was not only relevant back then though, it’s a state that accompanied many people’s lives before Covid and still does. Perhaps you know it from phases where you were a bit lost what to do next - after graduating for example - or from the winter months when it’s dark and cold outside and we spend more time at home.

Since languishing may also be confused with depressive episodes or actually be a precursor for depression, we should look closely at what we need to improve our mental well-being.

👉 In our new YouTube video, we’ll explain what languishing is, where to locate it at the mental health continuum and give practical tips to help you flourish again. (Find the link in our bio)
