Hey! It’s History Friday!

This week, we have a photo of Main Street in Kalispell, facing south from across Depot Park, circa 1940 and 2025. The most notable difference? The vehicles! The YMCA building, present in 1940, is no longer there in 2025 along with the Listle Cafe. While Main Street was already paved in 1940, Center Street was still a dirt road. Streetlamps have been moved and updated over time. Additionally, First Interstate Bank now occupies a large portion of the lot that once held multiple wood-front businesses. Even today, renovations are pending for Main Street.
