Empowering the next generation to create safer roads and more livable cities.
Across 28 schools in An Giang and Vinh Long provinces, 840 students gained the knowledge and skills to become road safety advocates through teacher-led trainings delivered as part of the AI&Me: Empowering Youth for Livable Cities program.
Through these trainings, young people are building the confidence and practical tools needed to raise their voices, identify high-risk areas, and lead awareness activities that help create safer environments for everyone.
Student Dang Bao Thy from Binh Minh High School in Vinh Long described her experience:
"With this learning style and classroom layout, I find the content more engaging than in a traditional classroom setting. Through presentations and games, I feel that my contributions are better heard. This helps me remember information more easily, develop various soft skills, and become more confident in expressing my own opinions."
Together with our partners, we are ensuring youth are not only part of the conversation — but leading the way toward safer, more sustainable communities.

🚗 Vietnam’s Child Car Seat Law Takes Effect July 1
After years of advocacy by AIP Foundation, the National Assembly of Vietnam approved a law mandating child restraint systems (CRS) for children under 10 years old and under 135 cm traveling in cars in Vietnam. The regulation officially takes effect July 1st.
To support implementation, AIP Foundation, with support from the Global Road Safety Partnership, has launched a CRS public awareness campaign. Bus advertisements across Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have already reached millions, with additional campaigns planned.
Ensuring children travel safely isn’t optional—it’s essential. This new law is a critical step toward protecting Vietnam’s youngest road users.

AIP Foundation’s Big Data Screening Methodology Gains National Recognition
AIP Foundation has reached a major milestone: the Ministry of Construction (MOC) invited Mr. Le Tien Phong, Country Manager – Vietnam at AIP Foundation, to introduce its Big Data Screening methodology at two national workshops. This reflects growing trust and recognition for our work in improving traffic and pedestrian safety.
The methodology was initially developed with iRAP and piloted in Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Lai, and Lao Cai through the AI&Me project funded by Fondation Botnar and the FIA Foundation. Currently, the methodology is being scaled nationwide through the AI for Global Goals – AI&Me Phase II project funded by Google.org. This project prioritizes pedestrian safety around schools using a structured, multi-level approach to identify and address high-risk areas.
The Ministry of Construction hosted an additional national training conference in the northern region (Nghe An Province) from April 23-24, and will host an upcoming conference in the central region (Da Nang City) from May 21-22.
These in-person events bring together government units, transport authorities, and rescue teams to strengthen traffic safety, disaster prevention, and emergency response capabilities across the country.
Through innovative tools like the Big Data Screening methodology, AIP Foundation continues to create safer environments for children and communities nationwide.
