About Vietnam ASDC 2026
The Vietnam Asian Schools Debating Championships 2026 (Vietnam ASDC 2026) is an international academic debating tournament for students across Asia. Following its successful inaugural edition in 2025, the championship returns with expanded scale, enhanced competitive quality, and continued commitment to fostering academic exchange.

ASDC 2025 saw an exceptional level of participation, bringing together 63 teams from 31 institutions across 11 countries - marking one of the most vibrant and diverse turnouts in the tournament’s history. In 2026, the championship will return to Vietnam for the second consecutive year, where we anticipate an even broader international presence as more teams join the journey.

ASDC 2026 is currently seeking Volunteers to support on-the-ground operations and ensure the smooth, coordinated ex*****on of all tournament activities.

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION AND BENEFITS

Job Title: Volunteer
Reports to: Vice Convenor
Number of vacancies: 30

Job description:
- Participate in training sessions organized by the Organizing Committee.
- Participate in running the tournament for 4 days.
- Greet international teams from the airport; assist with transportation and accommodation
- Set up debate rooms, halls, and necessary facilities.
- Support participants, etc.

Benefits:
- Directly participate in organizing an international debate tournament.
- Cultivate and accumulate the necessary skills in organizing events
- Have a chance to directly observe many high - quality debates of the tournament, and also build up more meaningful relationships for the future.
- To be awarded the certificate by the Asian Schools Debating Championship 2026.

The response to Vietnam ASDC 2026 has exceeded all expectations!

From 63 teams in our inaugural season, this year’s tournament has officially surpassed 90+ registered teams from across Asia - making Vietnam ASDC 2026 one of the largest and most international editions yet.

With the scale of the tournament continuing to grow, we are extending our volunteer recruitment period and increasing the number of open positions from 30 to 50 volunteers to ensure the best possible experience for all participants this June.

If you’re passionate about debating, international events, teamwork, or simply want to be part of something exciting this summer, this is your chance to join the team behind one of Asia’s largest school debating tournaments.

🕌 Ember và Fluffy đã đi qua rất nhiều vùng đất, nhưng chưa nơi nào khiến họ chậm lại như Ấn Độ. Vào một buổi chiều ngập nắng của tháng Phalgun, khi mùa đông dần khép lại và mùa xuân bắt đầu; không có bản đồ, không có kế hoạch, họ chỉ bước đi cho đến khi không khí xung quanh dần nhuộm màu. Một vệt hồng khẽ chạm vào vai Ember, và khi cậu ngẩng lên, cả không gian đã ngập trong tiếng cười cùng những nắm bột màu tung bay.

🔥 Họ bước theo dòng người và dừng lại trước một đống lửa lớn giữa quảng trường. Ánh lửa phản chiếu trong mắt Ember khi cậu nghe người dân kể về Prahlad và Holika - câu chuyện về cái thiện không bị thiêu rụi trong ngọn lửa. Đêm trăng tròn tháng Phalgun trở thành thời khắc người ta đốt lửa để bỏ lại những điều cũ và chờ đón một khởi đầu mới. Sáng hôm sau, Ember lại được nghe thêm một câu chuyện nữa để hiểu rõ hơn về lễ hội này: câu chuyện về Krishna và Radha. Nếu ngọn lửa đêm qua tượng trưng cho việc thiêu rụi cái ác và bóng tối, thì những nắm bột màu hôm nay lại bắt nguồn từ khoảnh khắc Krishna bôi màu lên Radha để xóa đi sự khác biệt, biến màu sắc thành biểu tượng của tình yêu và sự hòa hợp. Hai câu chuyện, một của lửa và một của màu, tưởng như đối lập nhưng lại hòa vào nhau. Chúng cùng kể về một điều: chỉ khi cái cũ được buông bỏ, con người mới có thể mở lòng để yêu thương và kết nối.

🤩 Khi Ember còn đang mải suy nghĩ, một nắm bột vàng bất ngờ bay đến, rơi trúng Fluffy. Chú cáo đứng sững lại, rồi nhìn Ember như đang chờ phản ứng. Chỉ vài giây sau, cả hai bật cười. Lần này, họ không đứng ngoài nữa. Fluffy chạy trước với một nắm màu đỏ, Ember đuổi theo sau, và chẳng mấy chốc họ đã hòa vào dòng người. Nơi không ai hỏi họ là ai, cũng chẳng ai quan tâm họ đến từ đâu. Những nắm bột màu tung bay, tiếng cười vang lên, tất cả tạo nên một không gian sống động, nơi ai cũng trở thành một phần của lễ hội.

💭 Giữa những gam màu rực rỡ ấy, Ember dần hiểu ra vì sao lễ hội này lại diễn ra vào khoảnh khắc giao mùa. Không chỉ là khoảnh khắc thiên nhiên thay đổi, mà còn là lúc con người chọn buông bỏ những điều cũ kỹ trong lòng mình. Màu sắc ở đây không che giấu con người, mà khiến họ trở nên chân thật hơn. Người ta ném màu vào nhau không phải để làm bẩn, mà để xóa đi khoảng cách, những định kiến về giai cấp, giới tính, những hận thù để tha thứ và kết nối lại với nhau. Và khi rời đi, Ember khẽ nói với Fluffy rằng có lẽ đây không chỉ là một lễ hội. Đó là nơi mà mọi ranh giới về quá khứ, sự khác biệt hay định kiến đều có thể tan biến trong những gam màu rực rỡ. Sau chuyến đi này họ học hỏi được nhiều điều hơn cho bản thân - những điều có lẽ sẽ còn tồn tại rất lâu, ngay cả khi màu sắc đã phai đi.

🕌 Ember and Fluffy had traveled through many lands, yet nowhere had ever made them slow down quite like India. On a sun-drenched afternoon in the month of Phalgun (around late February to March), as winter quietly faded and spring began to unfold, they wandered without a map, without a plan - simply walking until the air itself seemed to blush with colour. A soft streak of pink brushed against Ember’s shoulder, and when he looked up, the entire space was alive with laughter and clouds of vibrant powder swirling through the air.

🔥 Following the flow of people, they stopped before a great bonfire in the middle of a square. The flames flickered in Ember’s eyes as he listened to locals tell the story of Prahlad and Holika - a tale of goodness that could not be consumed by fire. On the full-moon night of Phalgun, people lit bonfires to leave behind the old and welcome a new beginning. The next morning, Ember heard another story that deepened his understanding of the festival: the legend of Krishna and Radha. If the fire of the previous night symbolized the burning away of evil and darkness, then the coloured powders of the day were said to originate from the moment Krishna playfully smeared colour onto Radha, dissolving differences and turning colour into a symbol of love and harmony. Two stories - one of fire, one of colour - seemingly opposed, yet beautifully intertwined. Together, they tell a single truth: only by letting go of the old can people truly open their hearts to love and connection.

🤩 As Ember was lost in thought, a handful of yellow powder suddenly flew through the air and landed on Fluffy. The little fox froze, then glanced at Ember as if waiting for a reaction. A few seconds later, both of them burst into laughter. This time, they didn’t stay on the sidelines. Fluffy dashed forward with a fistful of red powder, Ember chasing right behind, and before long, they were swept into the crowd. No one asked who they were, nor cared where they came from. Colours filled the air, laughter echoed everywhere - it was a living, breathing space where everyone simply became part of the celebration.

💭 Amid those radiant hues, Ember began to understand why this festival took place at the turning of the seasons. It was not only a moment of change in nature, but also a time when people chose to let go of what weighed on their hearts. Here, colours did not conceal people - they revealed them. People threw colours at one another not to stain, but to erase distances: the boundaries of class, gender, and prejudice, the burdens of resentment - making room for forgiveness and reconnection. And as they prepared to leave, Ember quietly told Fluffy that perhaps this was more than just a festival. It was a place where every boundary - of the past, of difference, of judgment - could dissolve into brilliant colours. From this journey, they carried with them lessons that would last far longer than the colours themselves, lingering even after every hue had gently faded.
