BODY DISCOVERED IN PERUVIAN VALE

July 3, 2026 – Kingstown: The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Lida Lewis, an 84-year-old farmer of Peruvian Vale.

On Thursday, July 2, 2026, at approximately 12:50 p.m., police received a report requesting assistance in the Peruvian Vale area.
Officers responded to the report and several checks were made about the area, including areas where Ms. Lewis was known to frequent. During those efforts, the motionless body of Ms. Lewis was discovered.

The body was pronounced dead at the scene and was later removed. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Several persons of interest are currently in police custody and are assisting with the investigation.

UPDATE: FOREIGNER FATALLY SHOT IN CANOUAN

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force wishes to provide an update in relation to the shooting death of Daniel Vettrino, a 36-year-old Technical Service Manager of Colombia/Scotland, which occurred in Gym Hill, Canouan, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

A post-mortem examination was conducted on June 29, 2026, and the cause of death was determined to be exsanguination as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing. Anyone with information that may assist police is asked to contact:
