A native of Pennsylvania, Marissa Tromm is the current general music teacher at Mesquite Elementary in the Crane School District and the flute instructor for Arizona Western College. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mercyhurst University, and Master of Music in Flute Performance from James Madison University, studying with Wendy Kumer, Anna Meyer, and Beth Chandler. Just started an overhaul on this Gemeinhardt Flute I found on the Goodwill auction site. It was in pretty rough shape when it arrived with old oil and rust binding up the keys.
While the silver cleaner got a lot of the tarnish off, it still has some imperfections. Follow along to see if this flute can get up and working again.
