My Kicks on Route 66! 🚙

Spiritually Uncuffed at yesterday was magic ✨

I mostly quoted Dr. King’s 1956 “Our Struggle” speech to talk about the impact of a generation of black folx losing their dignity from being 2nd class citizens, and white folx losing the core of their ethical centers in being complicit with it. It felt so good to be in a room full of diverse people who supported my statement that today’s inauguration is a slap in the face to Dr. King’s legacy.

Spirit led me on an impromptu drive to get my Nissan Kicks on Route 66 (pictured here). Since last summer, sunflowers have been speaking to me. This mural in Yukon, OK perfectly conveyed how I was feeling. And this car looks VERY cute in front of it.

“Forgive” by Jesse FREAKING Powers was playing as I pulled up to this mural. This song has an extra special place in my heart after I heard her perform it at the . That was the moment I forgave myself that kicked off my season of transformation.

It feels full circle as is coming to OKC for a FREE concert on 3/5!!! Two years ago, I forgave myself. Today, I have faith in myself. And I love it here. ✨
