The cold stretch is behind me now.
It did its job.

During the snowstorm the ground was completely covered. Some days I wasn’t riding — I was pushing my bike through it like a sled. The coldest I went out in was 6 degrees.

After that, 43 feels like t-shirt weather.

The program is starting to come together in a way I can finally see — the structure, the direction, the bigger picture.

And it looks like I’ll be getting Uber back.

There’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Feels like momentum.

This was me, hours before the winter vortex came through. I’m heading into the coldest stretch of the year—five straight days out in it. I trust I’ll come out the other side a different man. So far this year I’ve been turning myself into a kind of Swiss army knife of preparedness—maintaining my own bike, building a course, handling business, and staying upright when things get heavy. I’m not aiming for perfect. I just want to reach the end of this year knowing I used what I had and didn’t leave much on the table. And if I haven’t said it yet—happy new year.

Here’s the official flyer for Part Four of our Jazz Chez Hanny residency. Each night in this room pushes the trio deeper — new tunes, new shapes, new corners of the music opening up. We’ve been building out a growing songbook, stretching themes from our debut album and following them into new territory.

I’m excited to bring this music back into such a warm, close-listening space. Every set here feels like a conversation captured in real time — the kind of night where the room and the band blur together.
