With grateful hearts, Jerry Kolda and Dave Hicks want to thank Yankton and the surrounding communities for 29 wonderful years of support at Kaiser Appliance & Refrigeration in Yankton.

Owning and running Kaiser’s has meant so much to both of them. Over the years, they’ve truly enjoyed getting to know people in the community, whether helping businesses keep their coolers running or making sure families had the appliances they rely on every day. They also want to thank all of the employees who have been part of Kaiser’s along the way. From summer help to long-time staff, each person played an important role in keeping things running smoothly.

On May 1, 2026, Jerry and Dave officially passed ownership on. You’ll still see Dave & Jerry at the store part-time to help with the transition, so be sure to stop in and say hello!

Kaiser’s has been part of Yankton since 1946 and celebrates 80 years in business this year — something Jerry and Dave are incredibly proud to have been a part of.

Jerry started at Kaiser’s at just 18 years old in 1981 and has spent 45 years there. Dave has been with Kaiser’s for 38 years since 1988 following his Father Jerry Hicks in ownership.

While ownership is changing, Kaiser’s is still here to serve you, offering and servicing products from GE, STIHL, and Big Green Egg.

Thank you again, Yankton, for your support, your business, and the relationships built over the years. Jerry and Dave wish the new ownership all the best and are grateful for all of the support shown during this time.
