As we celebrate our 50th birthday, we want to recognize some of the people behind the scenes that have made it possible. We start with Bobbi Jo and Tammy, affectionately known to us as TammyJo, as they truly are inseparable. Whether spending time with each other’s grandkids, or their annual gingerbread house contest at Christmas, they are true “work sisters” and epitomize what it means to be part of the Reading Pediatrics family.
For almost 25 years Bobbi Jo and Tammy have served as our care coordinators. If your children have ever needed an appointment with a specialist or an MRI, CT scan, or ultrasound, you have probably spoken with Tammy or Bobbi Jo. From working with insurance companies to get studies approved, to developing relationships with specialists at CHOP, Hershey, DuPont, and beyond, they are the masters of making these appointments happen. They are true advocates for our patients, often at a time when they need us the most. We are lucky to have them at Reading Pediatrics.

Creating spaces where young people feel informed, supported, and confident matters. Presented in collaboration with Junior League of Reading and Berks Teens, Let’s Talk Period brings together healthcare professionals and families for an honest, age-appropriate conversation about puberty and periods.
Designed for students in grades 3 through 8 and a trusted adult, this free event focuses on education and practical guidance to support healthy development.
Join us Saturday, February 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences. We will also be collecting new and gently used bras of all sizes and styles to distribute to local agencies supporting individuals in need.

Honest Conversations: Respecting Myself, Respecting Others
We’re excited to share that we’re using the Elevatus Training program to support young people with disabilities in learning about healthy relationships, boundaries, safety, and self-advocacy.
The program begins with a parent and caregiver component, giving families the tools and confidence to have open, supportive conversations with their young person. From there, youth will participate in interactive sessions that cover topics like understanding bodies, consent, communication, friendships, and navigating relationships with confidence.
