One language I have found to be very unifying is sports. Think of any sports or games. Mention like; soccer, football, basket ball, rallying, athletics, volley ball, games at the olympics, swimming and mention them....
Interested in a particular team? Or a particular game? Interested in an overview of all the sports and games? Math is another great language. Many of us have misconceptions about it  ...
