What a wonderful day in Bradley Elementary School District in IL. Worked with multiple groups of teachers who are working with standards within PowerSchool and the Q&A was a quality experience. They had several recommendations for change that would have to be processed and reflected upon. On that topic, those of you know me have seen or heard me say all the heavy lifting when transitioning from traditional grades to standards grades - lies on the curriculum side rather than technology. Bradley has a strong and committed curriculum team and administrators. Had a very productive meeting with the Special Education Director regarding PS and their Special Education program, modified curriculum and really looking forward to a Life Skills Progress Report for a very specialized population - all within PS. Can't wait. PROCESS PROCESS PROCESS and then COMMUNICATIONS. I have throughly enjoyed my working relationship with this school district. Effort next year moves to Grades 6 - 8 and met all the ELA and MATH teachers in those grades as they prepare for the selection of standards process. Can't wait to work at the MS level next year! Hope all is well with my FB peeps. Some conferences are returning both virtual and in person now available. Hoping these all work for attendees, organizers and sponsors. Although fully vaccinated I’ve chosen to work with clients remotely. For the services I still offer it’s been keeping everyone safe, projects are completed or in progress and learning is still going well.

Remember with respect to districts considering implementing standards now is the time for your heavy lifting because the summer typically you loose critical mass of the decision makers.
