When Kian Charris ’27 found out he would have the opportunity to work at the FIFA World Cup, he knew it would be an unforgettable experience.

But when he learned he would be sharing the field with members of the French National Team, he knew this summer would be truly one of a kind. 🇫🇷⚽️

As a member of the fan operations team at Boston Stadium during the World Cup, Kian helped thousands of fans experience the excitement of the world’s biggest sporting event.

“From the roar of the crowds, chants all game long, the smiles and tears on so many faces ... there were countless memories I’ll never forget,” he said.

The summer reached another level when Kian was selected as one of a small group of New England Revolution Academy players and alumni to participate in a scrimmage with players from the French National Team.

For a lifelong soccer player and fan, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share the field with players who compete at the highest levels of the sport in Europe.

“I’m very grateful for that moment. It motivated me to keep striving for my dreams. Watching players of that caliber up close, you realize it’s not just the talent that separates them; it’s also their professionalism, attention to the tiniest of details, IQ, and intensity.”

NEWS 📰: Four Assumption alumni have been recognized on influential Boston and Worcester power lists highlighting leaders making an impact across their industries and communities.

John Clancy ’89 was named to the Boston Globe’s Tech Power Players list, while Jon Weaver ’06, G’16, Kathie Mahoney ’98, and Ken Bates G’90 were named to the Worcester Business Journal’s Power 100 list.

Meet the newest members of the grounds crew 🐐💙

For the past several years, Assumption University has turned to the help of goats from local farms to help manage understory brush growth in several areas of campus during the summer. It may sound odd, but a herd of goats can be an extremely effective and environmentally-friendly method of clearing undesirable vegetation from wooded areas of our campus!

Two hundred and fifty years ago today, the formal adoption of the Declaration of Independence laid the foundation for American aspiration. Today, we honor our nation on this important anniversary.
