Adaptive Exercise
Adaptive Exercise provides the highest standards of in-home personal training for individuals with special needs. Programming is individualized and developed based on assessments, to ensure client success, and establish positive exercise experiences.
There are so many reasons aside from weight loss to exercise, but if that is the goal, aerobic exercise should certainly be a point of emphasis. Here are a few ways we work aerobics into our home fitness programs.
Stepping in to provide some extra suppport when this guy needs it. I noticed he was getting fatigued half way through the set and his form started to get a little sloppy, but just a bit a physical support, by holding his hands forward, was all he needed to finish strong.
The best part of adaptive training is when you see athletes perform exercises they couldn't do previously. These guys had trouble getting into plank position and holding this postition when we first tried. We worked on modified planks from an elevated platform for many sessions, systematically lowering the platform every few weeks. Now they are getting into plank position on the ground and holding it for 20 seconds.
Helping this lady learn alternating step ups. While this is an aerobic exercise, I am not concerned with speed until the athlete has shown a consistent ability to perform the exercise accurately. Right now its all about learning. Stay tuned to see how she progresses.

There is nothing wrong with making a new year’s resolution for your fitness, but creating smaller, specific weekly goals is an extremely effective way to help you reach them. I have been following this strategy for many years and it has helped me stay consistent and reach new heights in my fitness.
Each week create a measurable goal for yourself. Either a certain amount of workouts to complete, a specific amount of time spent exercising, a weekly step total, or any other trackable target. Then you simply record what you have done each day. At the end of the week you can see if you reached the goal you set for yourself. Over time these smaller goals can lead to big changes.
