Introducing my latest piece “Golden Covey” 12x24” gold leaf, acrylic and collage on wood panel. Growing up in the California hills, I have always loved watching quail families scurrying into the brush and hearing their distinctive calls. They seemed to epitomize close knit families to me and will always be one of my favorite subjects. This piece (and many others) will be available in my studio 212 at Art Bias’ Open Studios, May 9th and 10th, so please plan to stop by!

The third piece in my triptych “Under the Northern California Coast” is finally done! This is “Purple Striped Jellyfish” 18x18” gold leaf, acrylic and collage on wood panel. I am so excited to get it varnished, framed and off to my awesome collectors in Los Altos! I’ll be posting a pic of the whole triptych as soon as all are framed. I’m so grateful to these wonderful collectors for suggesting that I turn my “Humpback Mom and Calf” into a triptych - it has been a really inspiring and educational process!

This month at in Los Altos, I am showing some of my early watercolor pieces, including this piece, “Wild Horses Could Not Tear Me Away”, 16x20”. I painted this piece after visiting the San Diego Wildlife Park and catching a photo of two wild Mongolian horses posing together. I was taken with the connection between these two and decided to paint a more whimsical version. Swipe right to see the original reference photo.
