Over the last 5+ years, police departments across the country have dramatically increased de-escalation training — it’s now mandated in many states and pushed heavily as the primary solution.

Meanwhile, according to the FBI’s latest LEOKA report:

Assaults on officers hit a 10-year high in 2025 with 90,178 reported assaults — a rate of 13.8 assaults per 100 officers.

The assault rate has been rising since 2021 and is the highest in the past decade.

Make that make sense.

More de-escalation training.

More officers getting attacked and injured.

Is the training actually working… or is it getting more cops hurt by teaching them to hesitate when the streets are getting more dangerous?

Criminals aren’t de-escalating. They’re escalating.

We need balance — smart tactics, strong communication, and the ability to win when words fail.

Train officers like warriors who can talk and fight when necessary. Anything less puts good cops at risk.
