I haven't updated on the building of the ranch house in sometime. Today the taping and skim coating started...its really starting to look like the finish line isn't sooooo far away.

We started this house last fall after finishing our daughters house. I would frame walls while Dave was at work, we'd set joists when he was here. Then the wiring and plumbing were all him (i don't like the mechanical part of building). Most everything from framing to now has been my talented (and often cranky) husband's doing.

I'm excited for this next phase so I can get back to putting my talents to work. As we say, he makes a house, i make a home.

It's taking longer these days to get things done, but we're still moving in a forward motion, side-by-side. Seeing the grin on his face this morning after the finishers got started made my day. And now he's in his happy place...the tractor seat.

"We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there!"
