When I was a little girl, my horse Snowflake used to come right up to my bedroom window. Sometimes I’d play her music, other times I’d lie on my bed while she gently rubbed my head with her muzzle. On nights when I couldn’t sleep, I’d crawl out of the window onto her back and drift off. Thinking back, my relationship with her feels like a dream, so magical that it almost seems made up. But as a little girl, I didn’t see the magic in it. I was just completely present in those moments. I think that’s how life works-small, beautiful moments that we only recognize as magic when we look back.
