d learning. I started hosting trivia nights at Brewmasters of Wilson in 2018 after being a player for a year. The trivia host was stepping down and encouraged me to pick up her role as quiz master. I wasn't sure how well I would do with it and I realized quickly how much I loved it. I served Brewmasters as their host until March of 2020 when everything shut down due to COVID. I still had a passion to host trivia and found a way to do it via Zoom. I started writing my own quizzes and soon found myself hosting Monday night Zoom quizzes and random daily Pop Quizzes to help folks dealing with being stuck at home during the pandemics earliest days. I hosted those for nearly 6 months before asking Casita Brewing if they would like to have trivia nights at the brewery. They had just opened in Wilson and restrictions were starting to relax a bit with group settings, especially outdoors. We soon started a monthly quiz night at Casita under the big tent in their beer garden. We continued that for 7 months. As things got even more relaxed we decided to turn it into a weekly trivia night. It soon gained steam and I started hosting a monthly themed night to attract outside participants. What started as four teams at the first quiz in the fall of 2020 soon blossomed into a regular group of 12 teams in the fall of 2021. Throughout 2022 my group of regulars combined teams, new teams introduced themselves and we now find ourselves with a steady group of around 16 teams every week.
