๐ŸŒฟ Fundraiser Update: Spreading Joy and Togetherness This Holiday Season

In 2022, we began our project of sponsoring kids presents for the each upcoming holiday season. To this date, we continue bringing joy to children from Indigenous communities in Panama, gathering little ones from several communities to share a weekend of celebration, play, music, and togetherness during December and January.

The idea was simple, yet deeply meaningful: to create a moment of joy, to encourage communication between communities, and to give the children a space where they could meet each other, laugh, receive gifts, enjoy home-cooked meals, and feel the warmth of abundance that this season can bring.๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ™

Our colleague Aisen, who leads these initiatives in the communities, carries this vision with a heart full of purpose. She believes that every child deserves to smile widely, to be healthy, and to have access to the basic needs that all humans should enjoy, clean water, food, clothing, medical attention, and care, and of course, so do we.

Working as a small NGO is not easy. It means constantly reaching out, filling out forms, waiting in offices, asking for help again and again. Yet Aisen never stops. Her persistence, dedication, and love for the communities keep this work alive.

This year, she is working to bring joy to around 3,000 children, along with their families, by preparing gifts, food, piรฑatas, and small surprises that will fill their hearts with happiness. To make this possible, she needs help.

It is a big task, but one we truly believe in.

You can chip in and be part of the magic, helping us bring smiles to so many faces. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

GeoParadise: Doing The Good Stuff ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ซ

Aisen, our unstoppable charity goddess, is forging ahead with the new canteen and dining hall for orphaned indigenous children. Sheโ€™s already got an architect draw up plans, the local council providing equipment and workers and they have already broken ground! ๐Ÿ™Œ

But thatโ€™s not all, along the way sheโ€™s been supporting a homeless father and child, helping them access government aid, food, and clothing. Sheโ€™s also been helping a young person through an extremely difficult situation, making sure they receive the right care and support.

Her compassion and drive are truly incredible. ๐Ÿ’–
Aisen, you are a force of good, weโ€™re so proud of you. ๐ŸŒŸ

No matter where we come from and which part of the world we call our home, it is fascinating to see how different cultures mark the passage of time.

Each tradition reflects the human desire to honor our ancestors, celebrate the cycle of life, and remember that light and shadow are both part of the same whole. ๐ŸŒš๐ŸŒ™๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ“๐ŸŒ–

Right now, as we transition from the end of October to the beginning of November, it is autumn ๐Ÿ‚ in the Northern Hemisphere and spring ๐Ÿ’ in the Southern Hemisphere, so seasonal changes and meanings differ depending on where you live.

Across the globe, many peoples celebrate festivals that honor the cycles of life, death, light, harvest, and transformation. In Mexico and other Latin American countries, people celebrate Dรญa de Mu***os (Day of the Dead), connecting with ancestors. In Europe, there are traditions like All Saintsโ€™ Day, Samhain, and the Slavic Night of Veles, while some cultures hold Festivals of Light marking seasonal transitions.

At Tribal Gathering, we embrace this diversity of beliefs and practices, recognizing how deeply connected we all are through our stories and rituals. We want to invite everyone, from all cultures and traditions, to share if you have special customs, stories, myths, or beliefs connected to this time of year. Maybe itโ€™s about the veil between worlds being thinner than usual at this time of the year, communicating with ancestors, leaving offerings to spirits, remembering and honoring deceased loved ones, seasonal transitions, or anything meaningful to your culture.

If you post about your tradition, please tag @ GeoParadise as a collaborator so we can see your stories and share them on our social media. Weโ€™re excited to explore the connections and diversity of human traditions around this season with all of you.
