Wilmette Fire Department

The MABAS Division 3 Dive/Sonar Team was out training today training with our Marine Sonic Towfish sonar and Garmin side-scan equipment. Members from Glencoe Public Safety, Park Ridge FD, Northbrook FD, and Evanston FD joined Wilmette boat operators on Fireboat 2681 and Evanston Marine 21. Sonar techs were searching for submerged dive manikins, and also placed metal dog crates as close as possible to the targets for reference points.

Back in the water for another Ice dive drill

Our Fire Department’s Dive Team attended one of the annual Ice Dive drills today in Des Plaines. To be an ice certified diver requires special training.
