We create hardware for light sheet and multiphoton microscopy, fiber photometry, and whole slide imaging, along with quantitative image analysis software for stereology, brain mapping, neuron reconstruction, vascular analysis, and C. Specializing in integrated quantitative image analysis software for stereology, brain mapping, neuron and vessel morphology, we empower researchers to push the boundaries of discovery.

Hybrid solid−liquid optics enable scalable, high-resolution light-sheet microscopy across diverse immersion media - Nature Biotechnology 06/09/2026

Exciting science news! 🎊

We're thrilled to share that Dr. Raju Tomer's laboratory at Columbia University has published major research in Nature Biotechnology—one of the world's leading journals in biotechnology and life sciences.

MBF Bioscience had the honor of supporting this work. Our SLICE light-sheet microscope—which we commercialized based on Dr. Tomer's pLSM invention—served as the platform to help validate SCOPE, a revolutionary optical technology his team developed.

The research team includes biologist collaborators from Columbia, NIH, Lehigh University, NYU Langone, and other institutions, demonstrating applications from whole-brain neuronal mapping to 3D cancer tissue imaging.

This is exactly the kind of collaboration we believe in: academic innovation creating new possibilities, with commercial partners helping make those advances accessible to researchers everywhere.

A huge congratulations to Dr. Tomer, the biologist collaborators, and all the researchers involved. We're grateful to support work that will accelerate discoveries in neuroscience, cancer research, and beyond.
