Beautifully smooth surfaces offer more than aesthetic appeal; they Textured surfaces can embed contaminants, increase outgassing rates, slow pumpdown times, trap virtual leaks, and stress seals and equipment.

ANCORP offers a range of surface finishes engineered to reduce these risks and support system performance. From simple machined finishes to electropolishing, you can be confident that we have a solution that meets your needs. To help support your design process, we've condensed our surface finish guide into a quick overview:

๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฑ, a finish produced from a mill or lathe.

- For basic surface smoothing
- Can be applied to a variety of metals

๐—˜๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ต, an electrochemical process that removes a thin layer of surface material

- Reduces outgassing on a microscopic level
- Removes contaminants and oxide layers
- Enhances corrosion resistance of the base material

๐—š๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ ๐—•๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด, abrasive blasting with fine glass media

- Removes surface contaminants, oxides, and other impurities without altering base properties
- Creates uniform surface texture
- Improves adhesion for surfaces to take on coatings

๐—”๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐˜‡๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, an electrochemical process that increases the natural oxide layer (typically aluminum)

- Enhances corrosion resistance
- Creates an electrically insulating layer
- Customizable in varying colors for function or aesthetic
- Increases durability by providing a wear-resistant surface

๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐˜† ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฑ, manual sanding and polishing and available in two styles

With thousands of square feet dedicated to manufacturing the future of science and technology, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our team is absolutely essential.

ANCORPโ€™s first fundamental, โ€œThink Safe, Work Safeโ€, highlights our commitment to investing in continuous training, workplace evaluations, and a culture where everyone โ€“ from the manufacturing floor to the front office โ€“ knows that safety is an active practice.

This , we urge others to do the same and keep this commitment beyond an annual observance. To get started today, you can complete a review of your own workspace using the quick tips below.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Clear walkways to prevent slips and trips
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Use proper PPE at all times
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Practice safe equipment handling
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Pay attention to ergonomics and posture
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Review emergency and response protocols

Ultrasonic Cleaning for Superior Vacuum Performance๐Ÿงผ

An essential step in ANCORPโ€™s manufacturing process is the ultrasonic cleaning bath. This in-house procedure ensures products are free from manufacturing contaminants before packaging, allowing us to deliver vacuum-ready components. Without it, your vacuum system could experience delays in pumpdown time, destabilize pressure readings, or compromise your entire process.

Using high-frequency sound waves, the bath generates microscopic cavitation bubbles that collapse and forcibly remove contaminants from a componentโ€™s surface.
