From desk to nightstands ✨

These started life as a single desk, but I saw the potential for something a little different. I removed the center section, cut off the top drawer to bring them to bedside-table height, and transformed the two ends into a matching pair of nightstands.

They’re finished in a custom blend of Melange Paints Turtledove Taupe and Knapsack Khaki—a soft, warm greige that shifts beautifully throughout the day—and updated with antique brass k***s.

And my favorite part? These ones are staying with me 😁 After all that cutting, rebuilding, and painting, I couldn’t let them go. 🤍

This antique dresser had good bones, but the drawers were sticking, sagging, and showing every bit of its age. After a full refresh, it’s ready for many more years of use.

Painted in a custom blend of Melange Paints Heirloom White + Golden Hour to create the softest buttery cream—a subtle yellow that feels warm, timeless, and not too bright. Finished with new antique brass k***s for a classic look.

Beyond the cosmetic makeover, I repaired and adjusted all of the drawer glides, removed countless old nails from the drawer runners, and addressed years of wear so the drawers operate much more smoothly and won’t continue grinding away at the wood. As always with older pieces like this one, not all dings and dents were filled so as to keep its original charm.

One of my favorite kinds of transformations: preserving a beautiful old piece while making it functional again. 🤍

This solid wood dresser got a fresh start in Turtledove Taupe by Mélange — the softest, coziest neutral. The drawers felt too plain, so I added sleek black hardware to give it the contrast and character it was missing. Finished with a rich stained top, she’s officially ready for her next home.
