Saw this pop up in Google Maps the other day… 👀

So naturally I had to try it.

I asked:
“Who’s the best plumber for water heater installation in [specific city]?”

One of our clients showed up.

Which is exactly what we’d expect.

But here’s the interesting part…

The way people search is changing fast.

Less typing keywords. More asking questions.

And when people ask AI tools for recommendations, those tools still need somewhere to pull from.

For local businesses, that’s largely:

Google Business Profile.

So if your profile isn’t dialed in…

You’re not just missing Google search.

You’re missing AI answers too.

It won’t.

But here’s what it WILL do:

👉 It rewards businesses with clear, consistent, trustworthy information
👉 It ignores businesses with weak or confusing online presence

Because AI can only use what it’s given.

• Has inconsistent info
• Barely any reviews
• Weak website content

AI won’t recommend you.

Google won’t rank you.

Nothing changes that.

Same game. Higher standards.
