💔 Arizona is hurting right now.
From the forests around Flagstaff to the red rocks of Sedona and the communities impacted by the Butte Fire and other active wildfires across Northern Arizona, thousands of acres have burned, families have been displaced, wildlife has lost habitat, and countless firefighters are working around the clock to protect lives and property.

As someone who lives on the Grand Canyon Mesa, this hits especially close to home.
Out here, we know that fire is a natural part of many Southwestern ecosystems. In the right conditions, it can help forests regenerate and reduce fuel loads.

But the fires we're seeing today are often larger, hotter, and more destructive than they were historically.
Decades of fire suppression, drought, invasive grasses, dense forests, and changing weather patterns have combined to create conditions where a single spark can become a devastating wildfire.

My heart goes out to every family wondering if their home will still be standing.
To every rancher watching smoke rise over familiar hills.

To every small business wondering what tomorrow will bring. And to the firefighters, pilots, emergency personnel, law enforcement officers, and volunteers putting themselves in harm's way to protect complete strangers—thank you. Your courage doesn't go unnoticed.

Let's also remember the wildlife.
Elk, deer, bears, mountain lions, birds, reptiles, pollinators, and countless smaller creatures don't have evacuation plans. They simply run and hope they can outrun the flames. The loss of habitat doesn't end when the fire is contained—it can take years, even decades, for an ecosystem to recover.

When the smoke clears, the work isn't over.
Rebuilding homes.
Restoring watersheds.
Preventing erosion.
Replanting native vegetation.
Helping wildlife recover.
Supporting local businesses that depend on tourism.
Recovery takes all of us.

If you're in a safe area, consider supporting organizations helping displaced families, first responders, and wildlife rehabilitation efforts. If you're near an evacuation zone, stay informed and follow official guidance.

Today, let's keep everyone affected by these fires in our thoughts. Arizona is resilient.
Our communities are resilient.
And together, we'll help these beautiful landscapes heal.

If you're in Northern Arizona, how are things where you are? Feel free to share an update, a photo, or simply let us know you're safe. ❤️

From the garage to the back forty… my husband really does wear two (or three) hats every day.

Mornings often start in the shop with machinist and mechanic work — crawling under rigs, dealing with oil, grease, tools, and heavy equipment. Then he’s out on the ranch handling fencing, livestock, mud, and whatever the mesa throws at us.

He’s been wearing the BRUNT Ohman 6" Comp Toe boots and they’ve been handling the switch really well. The slip-on design with the elastic gusset makes it so easy to kick them on and off when he’s moving between the shop and the pasture (no fighting with laces all day). The composite toe gives solid protection around machinery and tools, and that FARMGUARD leather has been tough against oil, grease, mud, and the usual ranch mess without soaking through or breaking down.

Best part? They stay comfortable for those long days on his feet. He’s not coming in at the end of the day complaining about sore feet like he used to.
Proud of this hardworking man and grateful for gear that actually keeps up with his pace.

If your partner juggles shop/mechanic work and ranch or farm life, what boots have held up best for the back-and-forth? Always curious what’s working for other folks!
