Very few live life like Connie Palacioz. Connie made her mark on aviation as a Rosie the Riveter in 1944-1945 working at the Boeing facility where she handled riveting the nose sections of the . Connie would take the bus in from her home in Newton to South Wichita.

Her aviation career would resurface in the mid 2000’s as a plane she had worked on was brought back to Wichita for restoration. Doc wa restored and has become one of two flying B-29’s left. B-29 Doc has become her second home, volunteering at the visitors center for a decade greeting guests and telling her story.

At 101, Connie continues to promote the work of and telling that story. She is this year’s Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshall. You can see more of her story by seeing the Women of Aviation exhibit where she highlights .
