🙌 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Coach Bill Courtney is coming to Wichita.

He grew up with 5 dads. The 4th one shot at him at 16. And yet went on to build an $80 million lumber company. Motivated by his Christian faith and belief in people, he spent his evenings coaching kids in one of Memphis’s toughest neighborhoods until 31 out of 32 seniors went to college.

That story won an Oscar for the documentary “Undefeated”. But Bill’s just getting started.

At Lead Wichita we believe that prayer and relationships are key to transforming ourselves and our city. Come hear from a man who’s lived it. Attend the Wichita Prayer Breakfast.

This month we are honoring the legacy built by the Wichita Prayer Breakfast since its beginning in 1963. To learn more about its history, Damon Young, CEO of Lead Wichita, sat down with Richard Coe, who provided leadership for the breakfast for about 15 years; Rolph, CEO of Thrive Restaurant Group; and Pastor Nick Martineau of Hope Community Church. Here is one excerpt where they share how the breakfast was started to bring people together in community.

A few months ago, Damon Young, CEO of Lead Wichita, sat down with three individuals who carry the memory of the Wichita Prayer Breakfast — Richard Coe, who attended his first Wichita Prayer Breakfast as a teenager in the early 1960s and provided leadership for it from 1981 for about 15 years; Jon Rolph, CEO of Thrive Restaurant Group; and Pastor Nick Martineau of Hope Community Church. Damon asked them to walk him through the history of the Wichita Prayer Breakfast. Here is one excerpt where they share how the breakfast brings together individuals across the community and helped lead a small-group movement.
