A note from our Executive Director, Shelly:

For more than 15 years, Miriam “Mimi” Overholt has been the heart behind Legacy’s “community of hope.” From GardenWorks to PotteryWorks to CoffeeWorks, her vision has created a place where young people are known, supported, and changed.

Mimi often said that no one leaves this community unchanged. We see that every day in our youth, our staff, and everyone who walks through our doors.

Mimi is now in hospice care, surrounded by her family.

Recently, our youth paused their work to be together, creating handmade cards for Mimi and for Lauren, who continues to carry this mission forward. It was a quiet, powerful reminder that what Mimi built is still growing.

If you would like to follow her journey or share encouragement with the family, you can do so here:

We are holding Mimi, Lauren, and the entire Overholt family in our prayers, and continuing the work she began with hope at the center of it all.
