Mending Lives || Mending Lives is a comprehensive grief support program for children and their families designed to move participants toward the completion of the four tasks
July 4th is often filled with fireworks, family gatherings, and celebrations. But for grieving children, the holiday is a reminder that someone important is missing. If your child seems quieter or less excited than usual, that's okay. Grief doesn’t take a holiday, so it can appear in unexpected ways, even on fun days.
Help them remember:
• It's okay to talk about the person who died.
• It's okay to take breaks when emotions feel big.
• It’s okay to do something special to honor their memory.
Today, on National Bereaved Parents Day, we honor the love that never ends and remember the children who are forever missed. For parents navigating the loss of a child, grief can feel isolating. At Kidzcope, we are committed to walking with grieving families, providing support, connection, and a safe place to share their stories. To all bereaved parents: your child is remembered, and your grief matters.

Grieving families often feel pressure to keep everything “the same.” But summer can also be a time to start something new that brings joy and connection.
• Make a sunflower garden in their honor
• Plan a yearly “Remember Day” picnic
• Light a sparkler and say a few words each July
You’re not moving on, you’re moving forward, with love.
