Sunday Worship, September 17, “Laughter, Surprise, and Joy” (Abraham and Sarah and three visitors). We often say that God works in mysterious ways, and this is true. But God’s work often produces a response of laughter and amazement, the promise of surprise, and joy in how God brings new life into what seemed impossible. On Sunday, we will explore the story of Abraham, Sarah, and the impossible promise from a special messenger, and share Sarah’s laughter and surprise on how God is at work in her life. See you Sunday!

Congregational Choice Sunday, July 30, “There Be Giants!” “We are not able to go up against this people, for they are stronger than we”(Num 13:25-33, 14:1-4). The Israelites were poised and ready to enter the Promised Land. But the report that came back from the scouts was not promising. They clearly did not want to fight those already living in the land and their fears caused the Israelites to also be afraid and want to go back to Egypt. We all have fears in life. Fear is real! The question always before us is “do we face our fears or do we run away from our fears? But there is another choice! Our hymns will be from the Red Hymnal: “Be Thou My Vision,” “Under His Wings,” and “I Will Sing the Wondrous Story.”

Join us for Sunday worship on June 25 at 10:30am. Pastor Debbie will preach on “Finding Ourselves (in Christ),” Romans 6:1b-11 and Matthew 10:24-39. This Sunday our scripture challenges us with “burr under the saddle” Jesus. Yes, there’s grace in the gospel, but this week it’s all wrapped up in the reality of the real cost of discipleship. Jesus wants each and every one of us, and he wants all of who we are. Jesus desires that we find our true selves in who he is and what he is about in the world. We hope to see you Sunday! We have guest soloists, Anjelica (Angie) Rae McRae Breathett and Ted Dvorak this Sunday who will bring some special music to our worship time.
