Obituary for Samuel James Jarmakovitz at Falls Funeral Home and Cremation Center Samuel James Jarmakovitz, 68, passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2021 after a valiant battle from a massive stroke in January. Hi y’all. Quick update on Dad. He is still in ICU, he is still intubated but he is breathing on his own. He has pneumonia and was in the last stage of septic shock. So his body was riddled with infection and his immune system actually started attacking his organs. They have taken him off of sedation but he still has not woken up. He is now doing something called Decorticate posturing. It is an abnormal posturing in which a person is stiff with bent arms, clenched fists, and legs held out straight. The arms are bent in toward the body and the wrists and fingers are bent and held on the chest. This type of posturing is a sign of severe damage in the brain. He had a CT scan which didn’t show anything abnormal, so he will have an MRI tomorrow to see if they can see just how bad the brain damage is. We will continue to post as we get more news.
