Last week we celebrated an incredible milestone and an even more incredible person. After more than 30 years in education, our beloved Paula Miller will soon embark on a well deserved retirement.
For over three decades, Paula has inspired students, supported families, encouraged coworkers, and made a lasting difference in countless lives. Paula’s dedication, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to education have left a legacy that will continue for generations.
We will miss you dearly Paula! Congratulations on your retirement. May this next chapter be filled with joy, adventure, relaxation, and all the happiness you deserve.

During the June Joint Powers Board Meeting, the SELPA Executive Director honored Dr. Gary Gonzales, Superintendent of South Whittier School District, and Dr. Brad Mason, Superintendent of Whittier City School District, for their years of support for students with disabilities and their families. We wish them the best in their retirement.

WACSEP staff and DHH families spent a beautiful morning in Long Beach for Walk 4 Hearing on May 31st to raise awareness of hearing loss and build community and connection! We had a great turnout for our first year and look forward to the next one
